Life Keeps Testing You. Here's What I Finally Learned:

Part 2: Live in Abundance

Last week, I shared the first lesson that changed my life:

That's about looking inward and taking control of what you can.

But here's the thing, responsibility without the right perspective can leave you grinding forever, chasing more, never satisfied.

That's where the second lesson comes in:

Part 2: Live in Abundance

A friend recently told me about a man he knew who was very wealthy but very ill. He had the money to buy anything. But he wanted the one thing he couldn't buy.

To feel a sip of water going down his throat.

To be healthy enough to drink water.

This reminded me how it's easy to take the small things for granted.

It's cliché because it's true —gratitude is powerful.

It reminds you of all the small things, small blessings, that you can easily take for granted. For this man it was sipping water. For others, It could be something like seeing, speaking or walking.

Gratitude Feeds Abundance.

When you open your eyes to gratitude, you open your eyes to the abundance of blessings in your life.

The more grateful you become, the more rich your life becomes.

There's Enough For Everyone.

For years I lived in fear of lack and loss.

I feared not having enough and losing what little I thought I had. Because of this, I held on tight to what I had. Maybe it was a product of my upbringing or something else, who knows?

But what I do know is it's not a healthy way to live your life. All it does is fill you with anxiety, stress and negativity.

My life changed when I started living in abundance.

What does it mean to live in abundance?

An abundance mindset is about seeing the world through a lens of possibility instead of fear.

It's about giving and expecting nothing in return. Because there's plenty to go around. You don't try to hold on to or control everything. Whether that's your time, your money or your relationships.

You have trust that in the act of, stopping yourself from holding on and letting go, you open yourself to get it back, plus more.

You start to live your life instead of chasing it, trusting that what you need will find you when you need it.

Abundance Requires Faith

Don't worry, it's not about to get muslamic.

The first step to living in abundance requires you to have faith and trust.

As a muslim, I put my trust and faith in Allah. I leave my sustenance and needs to Allah. So I have faith and trust that whatever is meant for me will reach me at the right time.

You don't have to be muslim to live in abundance though.

The key thing is to understand the frame of mind living in abundance requires. It's letting go and trusting that the best outcome for you will come to you when it's needed.

It's having faith.

Living In Abundance In a Nutshell

If I had to summarise living in abundance down to 5 things to remember, it would be these:

  1. Gratitude opens your eyes to your blessings

  2. See possibility instead of fears.

  3. Accept that there's enough in the world for everyone.

  4. Give freely and have faith that whatever is meant for you will arrive at the right time.

  5. Live your life instead of chasing it.

Next week, I'll share the third lesson that transformed my life. But for now, practice this:

Give something freely today—your time, your attention, your help—and notice what comes back to you.

Not immediately, but in time.
