They're simple techniques you can use to deal with anxiety.

Grounding techniques work by pulling your focus away from anxious thoughts and to the present. 

Stopping the vicious cycle of negative thoughts.

By making you focus on your senses, grounding techniques suck you out of the blackhole of despair.

Back into the here and now.

Here's a simple grounding technique you can use whenever you're feeling anxious:

It's called the 54321 method

All you need to do is focus on:

- 5 things you can see

- 4 things you can feel

- 3 things you can hear

- 2 things you can smell

- 1 thing you taste

That's it.

Just focus on the above senses one by one and you'll feel yourself being drawn to the present.
