The RNDM #01

Welcome to the first of many issues of The Randm

Our goal is to provide a weekly dose of content that will pique your interest and have a positive impact on your life.

For our launch edition, we’ve chosen content that has sparked our curiosity over the last month. We hope you enjoy it and would appreciate any feedback you may have.

The Power of Consistency

To start with I thought the following tweet from Shane Parrish was appropriate for how we plan to progress with this newsletter.

Short term intensity will lead to short term gains but being consistent over time compounds and leads to greater gains over time. Small consistent effort is easier to maintain in the long run. Intensity can only get you so far before you run out of steam.

Plan for Failure to achieve long term success

A great take from the author of a worldwide best seller, James Clear, on planning for failure instead of striving for perfection.

He sums it up well with the following

it is all about average speed, not maximum speed. Daily failures are like red lights during a road trip. When you’re driving a car, you’ll come to a red light every now and then. But if you maintain a good average speed, you’ll always make it to your destination despite the stops and delays along the way.

How Light Exposure can Affect Your Health

Andrew Huberman does an amazing job at explaining scientific research papers in a way that is simple to understand. His protocols also make it easy to apply the research to optimise your health and life.

In the podcast below, he breaks down the current research on the effect of light.

A very intriguing listen.

ESPN presents the Excel World Championship

I was in the office this week when I saw an article headline about a World Excel Championship. I said this out loud to which a colleague replied, "Yep, that's a thing".

This tournament pits the world's Microsoft Excel experts against each other in a battle of the SUMIFs, VLOOKUPs and more Excel awesomeness to decide the best of the best. And now it's featured on ESPN with great coverage and commentary. Check out this article for more details
