How To Focus Better Without Using Coffee

Welcome to Marginal Gains

Hello, Marginal Gains community!

We're excited to have you with us once again as we explore ways to make meaningful changes in our lives.

In this issue, I’m sharing one habit I’m incorporating into my life this year

How to Focus Better Without Coffee

  • Jitters

  • Poor sleep

  • Caffeine crash

All for a bit better focus?

There's a better way.

You can get better focus without sacrificing your sleep and energy.

Sound.

Let me explain…

Your brain produces waves.

These waves are associated with a mental state and a corresponding frequency. When your brain hears a certain frequency it will shift it's own frequency to match. For example, if the brain hears a frequency associated with focus and concentration, it will shift to match.

Resulting in a focused state of mind.

By using sounds in various ways, we can create frequencies that help your brain shift to a focus state.

There's various ways such as Binaural beats, Monoaural beats and Isochronic tones.

A 2017 study showed that just 3 minutes of binaural beats can help improve focus.

You can also layer these with music to make it more enjoyable while improving your focus.

There's many YouTube videos you can use to take advantage of this.

I tend to use the channel linked below:

I learnt about the power of sound for focus after listening to the Huberman Lab podcast episode below:
